Accident in Downtown Midland Leaves Behind a Big Mess

MIDLAND - A bad wreck brought traffic to a standstill in downtown Midland on Friday night and police say it was caused by two drivers who were racing.

The accident happened at the intersection of Missouri and Big Spring around 8:30 p.m.

Police tell NewsWest 9, a mustang and a pick-up truck were racing southbound on Big Spring.

At some point, they collided, and the mustang ended up hitting another pick-up truck.

An SUV also got caught up in the accident.

No one was hurt but two people were arrested.

Police say one of them was drunk.

The intersection of Missouri and Big Spring was shut down for about an hour.
