In June, the unemployment rate climbed for Texas and the Permian Basin.
Midland still has the lowest rate in the state at 5.2 percent but that's up from May.
Odessa has the third lowest rate in Texas at 6.9 percent, which is also an increase from May.
Statewide, 8.2 percent of Texans were out of work, up just a bit from May.
Since January, Texas has added more than 117,000 jobs but not enough to keep the unemployment rate down.
