ODESSA - New information after gunfire erupted in Odessa on Wednesday. Turns out it all started with a feud between two groups and the two incidents were related.

Corporal Sherrie Carruth, the Public Information Officer of the Odessa Police Department, tells NewsWest 9 a feud began between two groups.

A group of people who live on the 1000 block of Placer had been visiting with folks on the 1300 block of Keeling on Wednesday afternoon.

It is unclear why but the placer group began bashing up a car and even breaking a window with a bat.

The Keeling group allegedly retaliated by heading over to the 1000 block of Placer and shooting up the place and that's when officers were called out to the scene of the shooting.

A man involved in the shooting made his way to the dairy queen on 10th and Dixie where officers received a second call for shots fired.

We're told that the man who went to Dairy Queen was only grazed by a bullet but no shots were actually fired there.

No names are being released at this time and no arrests have been made since all the suspects are also considered victims.
