WARD COUNTY - Some people in Ward County are fighting to keep their water from being pumped out.

More than 30 people came out to voice their concerns at public meeting put on by county commissioners.

They're fighting a second pipeline being built by the Colorado River Municipal Water District.

The district owns two water wells in Ward County and wants to build a second pipeline to pump water out to customers in a drought situation.

A discussion was also held about creating a groundwater conservation district to control water leaving their area.

We're told more public meetings on water issues will be held with both the Texas Water Board and the Director of the Water District.
