ECTOR COUNTY - Safety concerns are the reason behind Ector County Commissioners' decision to close a railroad crossing.
The Cargo Street crossing near Jaguars Gold Club was voted to be closed Monday morning during the Commissioners Court meeting.
It's considered one of the most dangerous crossings in Texas.
In the past 10 years, there have been 13 collisions at the crossing.
The Union Pacific Railroad has planned to close the crossing as quick as possible by placing concrete barriers at the crossing.
Those who wish to get across the tracks will be able to cross near East Loop 338 and Interstate 20 Frontage Road.
