ECTOR COUNTY - A one-year-old ejected out of a van Thursday is recovering in Lubbock.
Police tell NewsWest 9, Ruben Zubia Jr. was in a car seat, but the seat wasn't properly restrained.
He was riding in a van driven by 59-year-old Lilia Martinez.
Officers say she failed to yield, leaving the Love's parking lot off of Interstate 20.
That's when she was rear ended by a Grand-Am.
The toddler was ejected.
He's in good condition at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Martinez was cited with failing to yield the right of way and for carrying an unrestrained passenger under the age of two.
