ALPINE - The flurry of wildfires and our drought have brought some un-welcomed visitors to the Alpine area.

Within the past month, there have been numerous reports of black bear sightings.

Wildfires and the extreme drought are being blamed for pushing the bears closer to the towns.

They're having to be relocated in search of food.

If you live in the Alpine, Marathon or Fort Davis area, you're urged to keep all food indoors that includes dog food.

Also make sure your trash is in a dumpster.

If you see black bears lurking around in your area, you can call 837-2051.
