Man Behind Bars on Child Solicitation Charges

HOBBS, N.M. - One man is behind bars after a child solicitation investigation in Hobbs.

According to Hobbs Police, an investigation began back on June 23 involving inappropriate text messaging between a 14-year-old female student at Houston Junior High School and Joshua Conder, who is an active duty Army National Guardsman and an instructor of at risk youth in the Stay on Track Program.

The investigation confirmed the allegations and resulted in a warrant being issued for Conder.

Conder was arrested at his home on Tuesday morning without incident and has been charged with Child Solicitation by Electronic Device. The charge is a fourth degree felony.
