Police Investigating Evening Shooting in Big Spring

BIG SPRING - Police are investigating after a man was shot in Big Spring.

According to Big Spring Police, 22-year-old Dijuan Ausbie of Big Spring was shot in the 800 block of Lorilla Street on Friday evening. According to authorities, Ausbie was shot three times, twice in the chest and once in the back.

Ausbie was transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and flown to a Lubbock hospital.

Ausbie's current condition is listed as stable.

An initial investigation revealed that numerous male subjects were involved in a fight when someone fired shots from a handgun and several 9MM casings were found at the scene.

Witnesses are currently not talking with police. However, one witness told our photographer on the scene that she heard a total of eight shots, four shots from one end of Lorilla Street and four shots from the other end of Lorilla Street. The witness then looked out her window and saw a large man laying on the ground and people scattering across the area.

No arrests have been made yet and no motive has been established.

It is unclear if the shooting was gang related.
