Big Spring Firefighters Contain Three Fires Within 12 Hours

BIG SPRING - Big Spring firefighters had a lot on their plate overnight.

Howard County Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan tells NewsWest 9, they worked on fires from 10:30 p.m. Thursday night until 7 a.m. Friday morning.

The first fire started off of Interstate 20 at mile marker 170.

Fluid seeping out of a travel trailer ignited on the roadway.

Interstate 20 was temporarily shut down while crews battled that blaze.

A second fire erupted in the 1200 block of Rickey Road

A well house caught fire but crews were able to contain it.

The last blaze broke out off of I-20 at mile marker 187.

A vehicle's wheel malfunctioned and sparked a fire in the median.

Crews battled that blaze for 45 minutes.
