A real estate fraud scheme lands an Odessa and Midland man in federal prison.

35-year-old Marcus Rosenberger was sentenced to nearly three years for his part in the scam and 35-year-old Jason Morrison was given seven years for that and not registering as a sex offender.

The pair convinced homeowners facing foreclosures to sign their properties over to them, then sold the homes to clients who paid them monthly installments.

Both pocketed the cash, resulting in all the homes be auctioned off.

Besides prison time, the two will have to pay back $170,000 back to their victims.

Rosenberger will have to pay an additional $170,000 because this is the second fraud scheme he's been apart of.
