Permian Imposter Speaks Out in Magazine Article

ODESSA - The man who posed as a high school student at Permian High School is speaking out.

Jerry Joseph, also known as Guerdwich Montimer, recently gave an interview to GQ magazine from inside the Ector County Detention Center.

Montimer posed as 16-year-old Jerry Joseph while attending Permian High School and became a basketball star while there.

The GQ article from the July edition details how Montimer was able to fool the community and how local residents were just trying to help a kid who was down on his luck.

Montimer's accused of two counts of sexual assault, three counts of tampering with government records and identity theft. Those charges stem from a relationship he had with a student and the documents he provided to enroll in school.
