ODESSA - Odessa may not be voting for their city officials in May.

The City Council will be looking at changing their municipal elections from May to November on Tuesday night.

Mayor Larry Melton tells NewsWest 9, it's all in an effort to get higher voter turnout.

Voter turnout has been historically low for city and county elections but November attracts more people to the polls.

The Mayor says Midland has been doing it for a while and has seen an increase in voter turnout.
