MIDLAND - A man who led police on a high speed chase Friday lied about his identity to cover up his warrants in Mexico.

You'll remember that 43-year-old Javier Valdez led police on a 15-minute chase down Lamesa Road on Friday night.

A K-9 unit and a DPS chopper were also called out.

Valdez was eventually caught but identified himself as Francisco Baeza.

Turns out Valdez has a warrant out for his arrest in Mexico for kidnapping and sexual assault.

He is now facing charges of evading officers in a motor vehicle, endangering a child and resisting arrest.
