ECTOR COUNTY - A surprise inspection for the Ector County Detention Center this week after a string of inmate escapes in January had the jail coming under fire.

The unexpected drop-ins happened Monday and Tuesday this week and the jail passed in all categories.

The Texas Commission on Jail Standards conducted the inspection Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Back in January, Russell Rice, Robert Dudley and Rickey Taylor were charged with escape.
