MIDLAND - With all the firework bans in the Basin, is it safe to shoot them off at all?

The Midland Rockhounds will be lighting up the skies during the 4th of July weekend.

Officials say there's no need to worry and that the fireworks show is safe.

Since there's a ban on fireworks in most West Texas counties, they say this is the best place to go.

This has always been a show put on for the citizens. We know it's hot and dry, but we know it's also safe. This will be a great place for people to still enjoy the 4th of July and still have fireworks," Rockhounds General Manager, Monty Hoppell, said.

The stadium will have the Midland Fire Department on hand as a precaution.

The celebration kicks off on Saturday, July second and runs until Monday, July 4th.

A variety of activities will be held all weekend long.

All the money raised will go to the wildfire relief fund.
