Kristen Lowe joined the NewsWest 9 team in March 2011 as an anchor and reporter. Coming all the way from Detroit, she couldn't be happier to be in the West Texas sunshine.
 
Kristen graduated from Michigan State University in 2010 with a bachelors degree in communication and a masters degree in journalism. She anchored and reported for the university's Emmy award-winning news magazine Focal Point, where she covered the auto industry, education, and the funding cuts in Michigan's capital. Out of college, she was a producer for the NBC affiliate in Lansing, Michigan.
 
Kristen also spent time at WLAJ-TV in Lansing and at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, where she worked closely with the station's investigative, health and consumer teams. While she's had the opportunity to cover many memorable stories, her favorite involved sprinting (literally) after Michigan State coach Tom Izzo at the Final Four. She'll stop at almost nothing to chase down a story.
 
When she's not working, Kristen loves playing volleyball, hanging out with friends, and working toward her personal goal of sampling every Mexican restaurant in the Permian Basin.
