ECTOR COUNTY - During Monday's Ector County Commissioners meeting, Ector County Judge Susan Redford signed a local disaster declaration for the County.

It outlaws the sale, use and possession of fireworks for seven days.

If you're caught with any fireworks, you could be slapped with a $500 fine for each firework in possession.

At the end of this week, the County will ask the Governor to extend the declaration for 60 days.

That will ban the sale of fireworks through July 4th.

Right now, only licensed professionals will be allowed to use fireworks.

Commissioners also voted to extend the current burn ban for 30 more days.
