MIDLAND COUNTY - A HAZMAT scare in Midland County turned out to be a false alarm.
It all started when a barrel fell out of a truck at FM 1788 and FM 3503.
HAZMAT crews were called out to the scene.
NewsWest 9 has learned the chemical in the barrel was not hazardous.
The barrel contained 60 gallons of tetra ammonium chloride, which is used to help bore wells.
We're told it the amount in the barrel was below what needed to be reported missing, but the barrel owner, Superior Well Service, reported it anyway.
