ODESSA - Odessa Police thought they had an armed robbery on their hands but it turned out to be a big hoax.

Here's what happened.

Around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning, officers were called out to a home in the 900 block of Patton.

Cameron Baker, a minor, called Police saying he had been robbed at knife-point by four suspects.

Turns out Baker made the whole thing up to try to cover up an accident he was involved in on Center Avenue.

Police say Baker had been drinking, hit a parked car, and then took off.

Baker was ticketed for a minor consuming alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident.
