NEAR MARATHON - It's amazing what a little humidity can do. It has helped crews near Marathon get a handle on two stubborn wildfires.

According to the Texas Forest Service, the Schwartz fire is now 85-percent contained.

About 150 people have been working the fire this weekend, conducting burnout operations on the southeast and east sides of the blaze.

We're told crews are very pleased with the progress.

The fire has been burning for about a week and has burned nearly 84,000 acres.

10 miles northwest of the Schwartz fire, the Iron Mountain fire is now 80-percent contained.

Structures are still being threatened but we're told the risk is now lower.

The Iron Mountain fire has charred about 87,000 acres.
