ECTOR COUNTY - The Ector County Detention Center will be getting some high tech eyes to keep a watch on inmates.
County Commissioners approved the purchase of new security cameras at their meeting on Monday morning.
Each cell will get a camera.
The total cost is $16,000 and will be paid for with fees collected in the jail commissary.
Sheriff Mark Donaldson says the cameras were needed due to recent events.
Several inmates have managed to escape this year from the detention center including two inmates who managed to get out twice.
