New Tree Planted at Midland College in Honor of Arbor Day

MIDLAND - A new tree was planted on the campus of Midland College, but the tree holds a special meaning.

100 years ago, students planted a tree in honor of Arbor Day.

That's when Midland College was called Midland Christian College and was located near Ulmer Park.

In honor of that day and the tree, geography students planted a new tree on the campus.

The tree is an afghan pine and was planted near the new addition to the student center.
