Funeral Services Set for Andrews Soldier

ANDREWS - Funeral services have been set for an Andrews soldier, who died in combat over the weekend.

Family and friends can bid their final farewells to Sergeant John Castro this Friday at 6 pm at the James Roberts Civic Center in Andrews.

Following his funeral, Castro will be flown to Tennessee, where he will be laid to rest.

25-year-old John Castro was killed last Friday when his unit was attacked by small arms fire.

Family members say Castro was shot in the left arm and the bullet hit an artery, killing him instantly.

Castro, who was stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, was assigned as a member of 101st Airborne Division.

Castro graduated from Andrews High School back in 2004.
