Midland Police Arrest Suspect Involved in Weekend Assault

MIDLAND - Midland Police have made an arrest following an assault and burglary over the weekend.

23-year-old James Kemp is accused of breaking in a man's home and assaulting him with a knife on Sunday.

Officers were called out to the home in the 200 block of Holly Drive after they got reports of two men fighting in the front yard.

When police arrived at the scene, Kemp was gone.

They later spotted him walking in the area and Kemp took off running.

According to the arrest affidavit, he continued running and kicked in the door of a house in the 3300 block of Park Lane.

Officers arrested Kemp in the living room of that home.

His bond is set at $54,000.
