MIDLAND - Don't feed the ducks at the Midland duck pond, that's the request from city officials.

Signs went up on Monday at Wadley-Baron Park asking people to stop bringing bread and other foods to feed the ducks and geese.

City officials say the bread has no nutritional value and can lead to other problems like malnutrition,

overcrowding, polluted water, and diseases.

The food can also attract mice, rats and insects to the park.

By feeding the ducks, the animals also lose their fear of people and could become more aggressive.
