CARLSBAD, N.M. - A wreck in Carlsbad claimed the life of an elderly man.
The accident happened Monday afternoon on Highway 285, just south of Carlsbad.
85-year-old John Gillspie pulled into an intersection where he was T-boned by a semi-truck.
The truck pushed Gillspie's vehicle down the road, resting in the median.
The driver of the truck, 59-year-old Steve Pearson, was not hurt in the wreck.
Gillspie was taken to Carlsbad Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators don't believe alcohol was involved in the crash.
