MIDLAND - A caretaker for an elderly couple is in trouble with the law after allegedly stealing money from them.
Diane Edwards is charged with credit card abuse of the elderly, which is a third degree felony.
According to an arrest affidavit, the 72-year-old victim and her husband were frauded out of almost $5,000.
The Midland couple was alerted by their bank after a charge of more than $4,000 was made over the phone.
According to police, Edwards denied the allegations at first, but later admitted to the theft and was arrested.
Edwards is being held on a $10,000 bond and could face up to 10 years behind bars for the crime.
