MIDLAND - A Midland man is behind bars after an assault over the weekend.
26-year-old Rolando Salas is accused of beating and strangling his cousin over the weekend.
Police were called to Midland Memorial Hospital on Saturday night after the victim reported he was assaulted at a budget inn on west Front Street.
Officers found that the man was beaten until he blacked out but the victim couldn't remember who did it.
At the Budget Inn, officers interviewed a witness who said Salas severely beat the victim before grabbing an extension cord and wrapping it around his neck.
Salas was uncooperative with police.
