BIG SPRING - New information involving term limits in Big Spring.

Voters will decide the issue in May but the city attorney wanted to clear up some questionable language first.

It all had to do with wording on the petition to get the issue on the ballot.

That wording involved how long a Council member could serve after getting an opinion from the State Attorney General.

The city attorney says, if voters approve the measure, a City Council member can only serve two consecutive terms.

After that, he or she will have to sit out one full term before running for that seat again, but there's nothing stopping that Council member from running in another district after their two terms are up.
