ODESSA - Odessa College is now off the state's chopping block. OC got the good news on Tuesday night.
The House Appropriations Committee voted to restore state funding to Odessa College and three other community colleges under the proposed state budget.
The house had previously cut them all out.
The state's budget has not been approved yet but President Gregory Williams says they're grateful for the news.
He credits the hard work of local State Representative Tryon Lewis and State Senator Kel Seliger, along with the support of the whole community.
He adds the College will soon start construction projects under the $68.5 million bond approved by voters.
