MIDLAND COUNTY - Contaminated ground water in Midland County is now getting the attention of Washington.

Residents near West County Road 112 have been dealing with chromium contamination in their wells for years.

That contamination has now been added to the federal list of so-called superfund sites.

That means the Environmental Protection Agency will oversee the cleanup and investigation into what caused the chromium contamination.

Residents living in that area have been issued water filters from the state.
