MIDLAND COUNTY - A fire at a power substation is leaving many Midland County residents in the dark.

The fire happened Monday afternoon at a substation near South County Road 1160 and East County Road 130.

The fire started when workers were transferring power to a portable substation.

That's when a transformer ignited, causing oil inside it, to catch fire.

No one was hurt in the fire and Midland firefighters were able to put out the flames.

People living in the southern part of Midland and south Midland County could be without power for 4-6 hours.
