No Charges to be Filed Against Hobbs Homeowner

HOBBS - Hobbs Police say charges will not be filed against a homeowner who shot and killed a man who was trying to break into his home.

70-year-old Watson Green shot and killed 43-year-old Wallace Roberson back on February 22. Police say Roberson was trying to break into Green's home in the 1100 block of North Denson in Hobbs.

The Lea County District Attorney's Office has ruled that the shooting was justified.

More than half of the 17 people killed when a tourist boat sank on a Branson lake were members of the same Indiana family, and they likely wouldn't have been on the ill-fated trip but for a ticket mix-up.
