MIDLAND - It's back to the drawing board for the City of Midland.
Council members met on Wednesday night to try to decide who would supply the water to the newly formed Midland County Fresh Water District.
Their choice was Fort Stockton holdings owned by Clayton Williams.
But now they've had to table the issue about actually purchasing that water.
It all hinges on Fort Stockton, whose in a water fight with Fort Stockton holdings.
Fort Stockton hasn't decided if it will come to an agreement to allow water to be pumped out of Pecos County.
That water would supply the freshwater district in Midland.
Officials say the sooner a decision can be made, the better for West Texas.
No word on when the next meeting on the water district will be.
