BIG SPRING - A Big Spring man has admitted to beating up a drug informant.

30-year-old Gilbert Yorkman plead guilty to federal charges of retaliating against an individual.

Yorkman, his brother and 17 other people were arrested back in 2009 for trafficking cocaine and pot.

A year later, investigators say Yorkman beat up a person who was giving information to authorities about the drug ring.

Yorkman will be sentenced in May.

If convicted, Yorkman faces up to 12 months in jail and a fine of $250,000.
