MIDLAND - An Odessa man's accused of trying to crash into three Midland police cars.

Police say it happened Friday morning on west Wall.

41-year-old Yirmeyahu David is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and evading arrest.

We're told he was in his parents' car when he jumped in the driver's seat and took off.

His parents called officers because they were worried about his health and wanted to commit him.

Police say after running three lights and speeding up to 80 miles per hour, David tried to hit three different patrol cars.

He eventually crashed into a pole on Andrews Highway and was taken into custody.
