Hobbs Police Investigating Arson Case

HOBBS, N.M. - Hobbs police investigating a case of arson.

The fire began around six Monday night outside of the Hobbs Apartments.

Investigators say a group of kids lit a pile of furniture and appliances that were stored behind the buildings.

Police say the teens admitted to the crime which caused about $5,000 in damage.

Authorities say they don't believe the teens were trying to burn the complex down but they're still trying to determine what kind of charges, if any, to file.

They were not arrested and all the teens were referred to the juvenile probation office.
