BIG SPRING - The Big Spring City Council has a short agenda for their regular Tuesday meeting, but will voice their opinion on state law when it comes to regulations and other issues that require communities to take up the financial slack.

According to Big Spring Mayor Tommy Duncan, the city council will consider a resolution supporting passage of HJR 56. Duncan says the bill would prohibit the state from imposing "unfunded mandates" on communities in Texas.

There is a similar measure pending in the senate, SJR 17. The Big Spring City Council meets at 5:30 pm Tuesday in council chambers.
