Andrews Population Up Over Past Decade

ANDREWS - Andrews is a growing city. That's according to the US Census figures released Thursday.

The population in Andrews zoomed over 10,000 during the last ten years and now sits at 11,088.

Andrews sits in the middle of the several large projects including the Texas Waste Control Specialists site and LES. The area has also benefited from increased oil drilling in the region.

Andrews has also been listed as one of the fastest growing micropolitan areas in the country. Micropolitan areas have more than 10,000 but fewer than 50,000 people.

Andrews County now has 14,786 residents.
