Big Spring Posts Population Growth

BIG SPRING - Big Spring and Howard County have both grown over the past ten years. The US Census released its population findings for 2010 on Thursday.

The Census shows that Howard County is growing again after several decades of population decline in the mid 20th century.

Big Spring grew from 25,233 to 27,282 people. Howard County added about 1,500 residents. The county now has 35,012 residents.

Other parts of West Texas also posted some population gains. Midland now has 111,147 residents and Odessa's population is at 99,940.
