HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs home overrun with cats.

Police tell NewsWest 9, they received a call about an elderly woman keeping about 50 of the felines.

But when they check it out, they found about half of that amount.

That was still too many so officials removed seven from the home and left behind traps for the rest they couldn't catch.

Some of the cats will have to be put down because they're feral.

The woman who owns the house was allowed to keep five on the condition they're spayed and neutered.
