ODESSA - Dallas Cowboy's wide receiver Roy Williams made a stop in the Basin on Saturday.
Williams was among the panelists at UTPB's Black Leadership Conference.
The event was held at the library lecture hall on the University's campus.
They talked about everything from dropout rates in high schools to teen pregnancy.
A major theme of the day was the importance of educating kids to have a brighter future.
"There were so many issues that we talked about today but it all fell back on parenting. So I would say to parents, be a parent. Don't be a friend, be a parent. I can't tell you what's a good parent and what's a bad parent because you are the one raising your child, not me," Williams said.
The yearly black leadership conference has drawn big names in the past.
