FORT STOCKTON - Businesses in a Fort Stockton have a few more months to get rid of plastic bags.
The Fort Stockton City Council has delayed a ban on the bags, which are known for flying away in the West Texas wind and polluting the local landscape.
A ban on the bags was going to go into effect March 1.
That deadline has been pushed back until September.
Fort Stockton city leaders say this will give businesses more time to comply and residents more time to adjust to the new law.
