BIG SPRING - The Big Spring School Board will hold a public hearing this week as they consider whether to renovate a school or build a new one.
BSISD had originally planned on renovating Moss Elementary as part of a voter-approved bond issue, but the cost of doing that is approaching the cost of building a new school all together.
A public hearing on the issue is on the top of the school board agenda for Thursday evening. Information will be presented and the floor opened up to the public for comments. The board will then take a vote on renovating Moss or moving forward with a new building.
Whatever the school district decides to do, by law they cannon exceed the $60 million in bonds voters approved for the district-wide project.
