PECOS COUNTY - Fort Stockton's water fight with Midland Oilman Clayton Williams could be coming to an end soon.

The city is considering a compromise with Williams that would allow him to pump water out of his property in Pecos County to the Tall City.

But they want to hear from people in town before they make a decision.

A public hearing will be held on Monday 6 p.m. at the Pecos County Civic Center.

Fort Stockton has been in battle with William's company, Fort Stockton Holdings, for a year now.

City officials are concerned pumping water out of the county could hurt the city's water supply.

They could choose to compromise, fight the permit to pump water out, or simply walk away.
