House Fire Sparks Up in Midland County

MIDLAND COUNTY - Flames rip through a Midland County home, leaving a decorated war Veteran with nothing.

Northeast Volunteer Firefighters were called out to the home in the 1700 block of County Road 1136 on Saturday afternoon.

According to Red Cross officials, the fire started in a back bedroom and quickly spread.

The 82-year-old homeowner is a Korean War Veteran.

He wasn't home at the time, but we're told he lost everything including his medals, awards and other accolades of his service.

The Red Cross is helping him out.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
