BIG LAKE - A volunteer firefighter in Big Lake, whose job is to put out flames, is now accused of setting them.
22-year-old Mario Arriola is charged with arson.
Those flames broke out back on January 3 inside a storage building and quickly spread to two other buildings nearby.
From the beginning, investigators believed it was set on purpose because there were no utilities hooked up to the buildings and no other source that could have caused the fire.
The Reagan County sheriff's office tells NewsWest 9, Arriola was a probationary member of the big lake volunteer fire department.
If convicted, he could face up to 20 years in jail.
