MARFA - Border Patrol Agents made two large drug seizures on Thursday and Friday. Those seizures resulted in over 1,800 pounds of marijuana being seized.
On Thursday, Border Patrol agents say a Ford pick-up truck arrived at the checkpoint on Highway 67 south of Marfa.
After arrival, a Border Patrol K-9 alerted agents to the presence of narcotics. After searching, agents found a hidden compartment in the bed of a Ford pick-up truck. The compartment contained 256 bundles of marijuana totaling 1,143 pounds.
The next day, another Ford pick-up entered the same checkpoint for inspection. After a Border Patrol K-9 inspection, agents found 731 pounds of marijuana hidden in a compartment underneath the bed of the truck.
The drivers of the vehicles, one from Andrews and the other from Presidio, were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
