ECTOR COUNTY- New information on a deadly wreck involving an Ector County Deputy earlier this month.

A woman who was injured in that accident has died.

43-year-old Brenda Madrid died on Sunday at Texas Tech Medical Center in Lubbock.

You'll remember Madrid was hurt in the accident a few weeks ago in West Odessa.

Troopers say Deputy David Escudero was in an unmarked patrol car with his lights and siren on when an SUV ran the stop sign at Westridge.

The patrol car slammed into the SUV and sent it rolling.

The driver of the SUV, 43-year old Anthony Neal, was ejected from the vehicle and died.

Madrid was his passenger, she suffered serious head injuries.

The Ector County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9, Deputy Escudero is still recovering from his injuries in that wreck.

He has not returned to work yet.

We're told Escudero was responding to an emergency call at the time of the crash along University and Westridge.
